Origin2023
ATTO-TEC was founded in autumn 1999 as a spin-off of the University of Siegen. It developed ATTO dyes as photostability-superior alternatives to Cy and Alexa dyes: ATTO 647N and ATTO 655 show up to 100× better ozone photostability than Cy5/Alexa647 under identical conditions. The entire ATTO dye portfolio is manufactured at a single location in Siegen — one small German university town produces essentially all of the world's supply of high-photostability ATTO fluorescent labels used in advanced diagnostic probes and super-resolution microscopy.
