Casappa SpA was founded in 1952 in Parma, Emilia-Romagna -- the same northern Italian industrial corridor that produced Ferrari, Lamborghini, and the Ducati motorcycle. The Casappa family started as a precision metalworking shop and progressively specialized into hydraulic gear pumps as postwar Italian agriculture mechanized through the 1950s and 1960s. Three generations later, the family still owns and operates the company with no outside investors and no public disclosure obligations. The Parma location is not coincidence -- Emilia-Romagna is called the Motor Valley for its density of precision manufacturing, and Casappa's gear pump tolerances (micron-level gear meshing for volumetric efficiency) require exactly the tooling culture and skilled machinist population that the region accumulated over 70 years of motorsport and industrial manufacturing.
