Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province-based infrared technology company; listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange since February 2008. Founded 1984 (as Zhejiang Testing Technology Research Institute), restructured 2001. The **only Chinese IR company to mass produce both amorphous silicon (a-Si) AND vanadium oxide (VOx)** uncooled FPA detectors — dual-technology route gives Dali unique manufacturing flexibility. Claims a complete domestic supply chain and independent IP. Products: uncooled FPA detectors, thermal modules, handheld cameras, weapon sights, surveillance cameras, inspection robots, inertial navigation optoelectronics. One of the few Chinese manufacturers with a confirmed complete industrial chain for uncooled IR FPAs.

  • Did you know2023

Dali Technology manufactures uncooled IR FPAs and thermal cameras for both Chinese military weapon systems (weapon sights, inertial navigation optoelectronics for guided systems) and civilian industrial inspection applications (building thermography, process monitoring, inspection robots). The same Shenzhen-listed Chinese company supplies thermal imaging technology to civilian industrial buyers globally AND to PLA weapons programs from the same Hangzhou production facility. Unlike Hikvision (on US Entity List) or InfiRay (on US SDN list), Dali Technology has not been explicitly targeted by US export restrictions as of early 2025, meaning its commercial thermal cameras can in principle be purchased by Western industrial customers -- from a company that simultaneously supplies Chinese military thermal weapon sights.

  • Origin2023

Zhejiang Dali Technology traces its roots to the Zhejiang Testing Technology Research Institute, a Chinese government research unit founded in 1984 -- the earliest period of Chinese scientific modernization under Deng Xiaoping. The institute was restructured as a commercial company in 2001 and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in February 2008. The state research institute origin is significant: Dali's early detector technology came from Chinese government-funded IR research programs, and the company inherited both IP and engineering talent from state institutions. Dali is the only Chinese IR company that has independently developed and mass-produces both amorphous silicon (a-Si) AND vanadium oxide (VOx) uncooled FPA technologies -- a dual-route manufacturing capability that gives it production flexibility unavailable to competitors locked into a single technology. The a-Si route requires lower deposition temperatures (beneficial for integration with CMOS read-out circuits), while VOx gives higher sensitivity. Dali's ability to produce both means it can optimize for different applications without technology switching costs.
