Concentration2024
The hardest thing in plastics recycling is making recycled plastic safe to touch food again, and Envision Plastics was a pioneer of it. Its EcoPrime food-grade recycled HDPE carries FDA letters of no objection for food contact — meaning recycled milk-jug and bottle plastic decontaminated thoroughly enough to go back into food, beverage and personal-care packaging. Very few processes can clear that bar, so when a brand pledges recycled content in a bottle that touches a consumable, the eligible supply narrows to a short list of food-grade PCR producers. The recycled-content commitments that sound abundant collapse, at the food-contact tier, onto a handful of specialist recyclers like Envision.

Envision turned ocean-pollution recovery into a supply category. Its OceanBound Plastic program collects HDPE from coastal and at-risk areas — material likely to wash into the sea if not intercepted — and channels it, traceably, into recycled resin that brands buy to back sustainability and ocean-plastic claims. It is a striking inversion of a waste stream: environmental cleanup near coastlines becomes a documented feedstock with a marketing premium, making "recovered ocean-bound plastic" an actual procured input. The same recycler therefore sits at the intersection of waste management, marine-pollution policy, and consumer-brand sustainability sourcing.
