MGC's AGELESS oxygen scavenger — the small white "DO NOT EAT" packet found inside packaged rice crackers, beef jerky, potato chips, and dried confectionery in Japan and exported globally — works by a simple exothermic iron oxidation reaction: reduced iron (Fe) + O₂ → Fe₂O₃ (iron oxide, rust), consuming the oxygen in the sealed package headspace and extending shelf life by preventing oxidative rancidity, mold growth, and color change. The WARMLON hand warmer product that MGC also makes uses the exact same iron oxidation reaction, except the design optimizes heat release rate instead of oxygen absorption capacity — the hand warmer packet is engineered for fast exothermic reaction, while the food preservation packet is engineered for slow, complete oxygen uptake. A AGELESS food packet and a WARMLON hand warmer are the same chemistry tuned for opposite purposes: one extends crackers' shelf life for months; the other keeps fingers warm for 8 hours.
