Schütz is the world's leading maker of the white plastic IBC tanks you see on the back of trucks and in chemical plants — and it is also an aerospace and wind-energy composites manufacturer. Through its Composites division Schütz makes Cormaster honeycomb cores (aramid/Nomex) and prepreg core materials used in aircraft structures and interiors and in wind-turbine blades. So the same German family company that dominates bulk-liquid containers also supplies the lightweight honeycomb cores that sit inside airframes and turbine blades — two industries (industrial packaging and aerospace/wind structures) that share essentially no obvious connection, joined inside one company. Almost no one who handles a Schütz IBC would guess its maker is also in the aircraft and wind-blade supply chain.

Schütz is the global market leader specifically in IBCs — the cubic ~1,000-litre composite tanks that are the workhorse of bulk-liquid logistics — and operates the Ticket Service, a proprietary worldwide network that collects, reconditions and re-deploys used Schütz IBCs. Combined with Greif and Mauser, this means the IBC supply that moves agrochemicals, industrial chemicals and food-grade liquids is concentrated in a "big three," with Schütz holding the leading IBC position and a closed-loop reconditioning system that ties customers to its container ecosystem. The container layer beneath the chemical economy is both concentrated and, in Schütz's case, deliberately locked in through reconditioning logistics.
