Wipak Group (Nastola, Finland; subsidiary of Finnish family conglomerate Wihuri Group) produces premium cold chain PE film for frozen food alongside pharmaceutical and medical packaging film — from the same Nastola facility, using cleanroom-grade production capabilities. Wipak's medical packaging business uses identical polymer film technology as its cold chain food packaging (barrier multilayer PE structures). The Finnish company that wraps frozen salmon at −40°C also packages sterile medical devices and IV bags. Wihuri Group's portfolio also includes air cargo logistics (WFS — Worldwide Flight Services) and retail trading — a Finnish family conglomerate that handles both the cold chain packaging and the air cargo that moves it.
Wipak ↗Origin2023
Wipak Group is a subsidiary of Wihuri Group -- a Finnish family conglomerate founded in 1901 in Tampere, Finland by heiress and entrepreneur Annikki Wihuri. Wihuri built its business empire through Finnish trading, aviation services, and industrial operations over 120 years. The conglomerate today includes Wipak (flexible packaging), WFS -- Worldwide Flight Services (air cargo ground handling at 170+ airports globally in 22 countries), and Finnish retail trading businesses. The same Finnish family holding company that operates air cargo ground handling at Heathrow, Frankfurt, and JFK also manufactures the frozen food packaging films that fill the air cargo containers being handled at those airports. Wipak serves European premium food brands (Scandinavian salmon producers, central European meat processors) from its Nastola, Finland facility -- in a country with no domestic petrochemical feedstock, importing polyethylene resin and exporting packaged cold chain performance from a Finnish industrial park.
