ADM Decatur Soybean Processing Complex
ADM's Decatur Illinois campus is one of the largest single-site agricultural processing complexes in the world — combining corn wet milling (ethanol, HFCS, starch) and soybean solvent extraction (soybean meal and oil) on the same industrial campus along the Sangamon River. The soybean processing operation uses hexane solvent extraction to strip oil from flaked soybeans; the remaining high-protein cake (~44-48% protein) is toasted to produce soybean meal. This facility alone processes millions of metric tons of soybeans annually and is critical US swine feed protein supply infrastructure. Source: https://www.adm.com/en-us/pages/locations/
