Borealis Schwechat Polypropylene Plant
Borealis' Schwechat Austria polypropylene plant (adjacent to OMV's Schwechat refinery; ~15 km east of Vienna) is the primary European production site for medical-grade Borflow meltblown PP resins. Schwechat produces Borflow HL504FB (MFR 800 g/10min) and HF955MO (MFR 1,500 g/10min) — the two most widely used European meltblown PP grades. ISO 10993 biocompatibility certification is conducted at Schwechat. European N95 mask manufacturers (3M Belgium, Honeywell UK, Moldex-Metric Germany) source primarily from Schwechat.
