Chemours Opteon™ HFO Facility (Ingleside, Texas)
World's largest HFO (hydrofluoroolefin) refrigerant production facility near Corpus Christi, Texas; $300M investment, opened June 2019, capacity more than tripled at opening; expanded again in 2022. Produces R-1234yf (automotive AC) and R-454B (Opteon XL41, HVAC). ~250 employees + 100 contractors. Manufacturing refrigerants in Coastal Bend area since 1972. This single Texas facility is the primary domestic U.S. source for the mandatory new HVAC refrigerant (R-454B) that took effect January 2025.
