Elanco (formerly Lohmann Animal Health) Cuxhaven Plant

Historic poultry vaccine manufacturing site; operated by Lohmann Animal Health since the 1970s and acquired by Elanco in 2014. Produces MDV vaccines for European markets. Post-Elanco sale of US poultry biologics portfolio to Boehringer Ingelheim (2024, $885M), the Cuxhaven site's role in global MDV supply is reduced but not eliminated. Cuxhaven's long production history includes some of the earliest commercial MDV vaccine manufacturing in Europe.
