Wilhelmshaven FSRU Terminal (Germany)

Operated by Equinor ASADE · Lower Saxonyprocessing

Germany's first provisional LNG floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) terminal at Wilhelmshaven Port; commissioned November 2022 — Germany had no LNG import capacity before the energy crisis. 0.7 Bcf/day capacity. Emergency response to Russian gas cutoff that had driven European glass furnace cold curtailments. Equinor and others supply Norwegian and global LNG via this and other FSRU terminals rapidly deployed across Germany in 2022-2023.
