Haynesville Shale (East Texas / Northwest Louisiana) is the second-largest US shale gas play (~16 bcf/day production), valued for its proximity to Gulf Coast LNG export terminals (Sabine Pass, Corpus Christi, Cameron) — making it the primary feedstock basin for US LNG export. Major operators: Chesapeake Energy (post-restructuring), Comstock Resources (owned by Jerry Jones), Southwestern Energy.
