HeidelbergMaterials Union Bridge New Quarry

Replacement quarry opened 2017-2018 after Union Bridge plant's original quarry depleted by 2020. Contains 200+ Mt reserves (65+ year life at 3.5-3.8 Mt/year consumption). Connected to the cement plant by a 4.5-mile overland belt conveyor — a major engineering undertaking requiring 3+ acres of wetland restoration and 2+ miles of stream restoration.
