L3Harris RF Communications division in Rochester, NY is the primary design and manufacturing center for Harris Falcon tactical radio systems (AN/PRC-117G, AN/PRC-152A, AN/PRC-163). Battery management systems (BMS) for Harris military radio batteries are designed here and subject to ITAR export controls. The Rochester facility qualifies battery packs to MIL-SPEC 810G, MIL-SPEC 461, and NSA cryptographic equipment power specifications. Harris legacy (pre-merger with L3 in 2019) in Rochester spans back to Harris Corporation's RF Division (founded 1895) making it a 130-year-old center of American military radio manufacturing.
