Lynas Mount Weld Mine — Western Australia
One of the world's highest-grade rare earth ore deposits; ~8.1% total rare earth oxide grade. Discovered by Ashton Mining in 1988; Lynas acquired 2002. Ore mined here is transported ~4,700 km to the LAMP processing plant in Kuantan, Malaysia for separation.
