Enterprise Products — Mont Belvieu Barbers Hill Salt Caverns
Enterprise's salt cavern LPG/NGL storage at the Barbers Hill salt dome, Mont Belvieu. Dozens of solution-mined caverns, each hundreds of feet tall and wide, holding propane, ethane, butane, and natural gasoline under pressure. Total Mont Belvieu area (all operators) holds ~50% of all US propane storage capacity. Enterprise is the largest single operator. Storage caverns take 5+ years to develop via continuous salt dissolution. The geology is irreplaceable — only Gulf Coast Jurassic salt domes support this type of storage.
