Pilbara Minerals Pilgangoora Mine (Western Australia)
Pilbara Minerals' Pilgangoora lithium-tantalum hard-rock mine in the Pilbara region of WA; one of the world's largest lithium pegmatite deposits. Produces spodumene concentrate (typically 5.3-6.0% Li2O). POSCO holds 4.75% equity and a 20-year spodumene offtake contract. Ganfeng Lithium is a major customer. Pilbara sells concentrate via its BMX digital auction system at spot prices. 2023-2024 production ~700,000-750,000 MT spodumene. Spodumene exported via Port Hedland (Pilbara).
