Rockies Express Pipeline — Midwest Segment (Ohio/Indiana/Illinois)
The Rockies Express Pipeline (REX; jointly owned by Tallgrass Energy, Sempra Infrastructure, and Kinder Morgan) runs 1,679 miles from Meeker, Colorado to Clarington, Ohio — traversing the US corn belt states of Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. REX's eastbound capacity (1.8 Bcf/d) delivers Rockies-basin gas to Midwest markets; since 2016 REX also operates westbound capacity ('REXtreme') moving Appalachian Marcellus/Utica gas westward into the Midwest. REX's Ohio/Indiana/Illinois segment delivers directly to local distribution company interconnects serving rural grain-drying markets. The pipeline's east-west bidirectional flow provides optionality during fall harvest when Midwest gas demand spikes.
