Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics primary North American film and tubing manufacturing site in Akron, OH; produces multilayer polyethylene bioprocess film (PE/EVA/EVOH structures), Tygon biopharmaceutical tubing, and flexible container materials for SU bag assemblers. The film produced at Akron is supplied to Cytiva, Sartorius, Thermo Fisher, and Merck KGaA for incorporation into their finished SU bioreactor bags. Saint-Gobain's Akron site also produces IV bag films for pharmaceutical drug manufacturers — the same clean-room film manufacturing capability serving both SU bioreactor bags and parenteral drug packaging.
