Shintech Freeport PVC Complex
Shintech Inc.'s Freeport, Texas integrated PVC resin complex — the largest single-site PVC resin production facility in the United States. Produces approximately 22% of US PVC resin capacity. Co-located with Olin's Freeport chlorine plant (adjacent; Olin supplies chlorine to Shintech via pipeline). Hurricane Harvey (August 2017) forced Shintech Freeport to shut down for several weeks; the facility was flooded, contributing to the 25-40% PVC resin price spike in Q3-Q4 2017.
