Siemens Energy industrial gas turbine manufacturing is split across Berlin (SGT-800, SGT-5000F large frames; Siemens Huttenstrasse) and Ludwigshafen am Rhein (mid-size SGT-400, SGT-700; compressor casings and rotating assemblies for pipeline packages). Berlin has been the center of Siemens industrial gas turbine manufacturing since the 1950s. The Russia-Ukraine war created a widely publicized dispute when Canada licensed Siemens Energy to repair and return a Nordstream 1 turbine to Russia under sanctions exemption (2022 'turbine controversy').
