Primary US crude heparin processing facility; purifies crude porcine heparin (primarily from Chinese sources) into pharmaceutical-grade API. FDA-inspected. SPL's Chinese partner facility (Changzhou SPL) was the source of the 2008 contamination that killed ~81 Americans. SPL Waunakee continues as a major US heparin API supplier under enhanced FDA protocols.
