Tait Communications primary manufacturing and R&D facility in Christchurch, New Zealand. Tait has manufactured P25 and digital radio products in Christchurch since founding in 1969. The Christchurch factory is unusual in the global radio manufacturing industry for being a Western-hemisphere-independent manufacturing site — all Tait hardware is designed and manufactured in New Zealand, not in East Asia. Post-Codan acquisition (December 2022), Tait continues to operate from Christchurch. New Zealand's geographic isolation has historically made Tait supply chains more resilient to Asia-Pacific disruptions than Motorola Solutions or L3Harris.
