Teijin Aramid – Iwakuni Plant (Yamaguchi, Japan)
Teijin's primary meta-aramid production facility for Teijinconex fiber; Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture. This is the site where Teijinconex (classic meta-aramid, poly(m-phenylene isophthalamide) / MPIA) is manufactured. Also houses a Solution Development center. Critical geographic note: when literature cites the Netherlands as Teijin's meta-aramid production location, this is incorrect — the Dutch facilities (Emmen, Delfzijl, Arnhem) produce para-aramid Twaron. Teijinconex meta-aramid is made in Japan. Teijin Aramid BV is the Dutch corporate entity but the meta-aramid fiber itself comes from Japan and Thailand.
