Vietnam Central Highlands Robusta Region (Dak Lak / Lâm Đồng / Gia Lai)

Vietnam Central Highlands: world's single largest Robusta-producing region; Dak Lak province (provincial capital Buôn Ma Thuột — the self-declared 'coffee capital of Vietnam') produces ~45% of Vietnamese Robusta; Lâm Đồng and Gia Lai provinces produce most of the remainder. Approximately 600,000+ smallholder farms of 0.5-2 ha each; total planted area ~600,000 hectares. Elevation 400-900m on basaltic red soil. Vietnam total Robusta production ~30-32 million 60-kg bags/year in normal years (~40% of global Robusta).
