Vital Pure Metal Solutions – Langelsheim Plant (Germany)
Former PPM Pure Metals GmbH site at Langelsheim, Lower Saxony; acquired by Vital Materials (China) in December 2020 after PPM's parent Recylex went insolvent. PPM had produced GeCl4 for the optical fiber industry for ~65 years and developed specialized stainless-steel GeCl4 shipping containers. Now operated as Vital Pure Metal Solutions GmbH (VPMS). Products: fiber-grade GeCl4, GeO2, Ge metal, tellurium, selenium, bismuth. Chinese ownership of a major legacy European GeCl4 site represents a significant geopolitical supply chain development.
