Spacer Bar & Desiccant System (IGU)
Aluminum or stainless steel spacer bars filled with molecular sieve desiccant, assembled with hot-melt butyl primary sealant and silicone/polysulfide secondary sealant to form the perimeter seal of insulated glass units. Swiggle tape (single-component flexible system) is a growing alternative to traditional box spacer. Sealant failure is the primary cause of premature IGU replacement.
