§202 Preparation and Publication of Codes and Supplements

Summary

The House Judiciary Committee must prepare and publish updates and new editions of the United States Code and the District of Columbia Code. For each session of Congress, it must issue a cumulative supplement that adds the laws from that session, includes prior changes, and fixes errors in the current edition and its supplements. The Committee must also put out new editions that correct mistakes and fold in the current supplement, but a new edition can be published no more often than once every five years. Copies are distributed the same way as supplements. Any supplements issued after a new edition must not repeat laws that were already covered by supplements before that edition.
