Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle A— General Military Law › Part II— PERSONNEL › Chapter 55— MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE › § 1074b
Military department leaders must provide medical and dental care and hospital meals to certain academy students and Senior ROTC members who are hurt or become sick while doing military duties. Covered people are cadets at the Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard academies; midshipmen at the Naval Academy; and Senior ROTC members or designated applicants who are injured while doing authorized ROTC duties, while traveling directly to or from those duties, or while staying overnight before or between those duties when the duty site is too far to commute. The care continues until more treatment will not meaningfully improve the condition. No benefits are allowed if the injury or illness was caused by the person's gross negligence or misconduct.
