Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle A— General Military Law › Part II— PERSONNEL › Chapter 55— MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE › § 1078
The Secretary of Defense must set fair charges for inpatient medical and dental care for dependents under section 1076 after talking with the other service Secretaries. Those charges must be the same for all kinds of dependents. To prevent overuse, the Secretary may also set a small, uniform fee for outpatient care, but only after consulting the others and finding it necessary. Money paid for subsistence and medical or dental care under section 1076 must go into the appropriation that funds the operation and maintenance of the facility that provided the care.
