When a reserve officer of the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps must be removed from active status or from a reserve active‑status list under sections 14504, 14505, or 14506, the action must happen by the date those sections give. Unless the separation is delayed or the officer is continued on active duty by another law, the officer must be moved to inactive status, moved to the Retired Reserve if qualified and the officer does not ask not to be, or be discharged.
