"Defense intelligence position" means a civilian job at the Department of Defense working as an intelligence officer or intelligence employee. "Intelligence component of the Department of Defense" includes the National Security Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency, the National Geospatial‑Intelligence Agency, any other DoD unit the Secretary of Defense names as an intelligence unit, and their successors. "Congressional oversight committees" means the Senate Armed Services Committee, the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, the House Armed Services Committee, and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. "Excepted service," "preference eligible," "Senior Executive Service position," and "collective bargaining agreement" mean what those terms mean under the federal civil service and labor laws.
