Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle A— General Military Law › Part II— PERSONNEL › Chapter 45— THE UNIFORM › § 774
Members of the armed forces may wear religious clothing with their uniform. The Secretary in charge can stop a particular item if it would interfere with a member doing their military duties or if, under rules the Secretary creates, the item is not neat and conservative. Each Secretary must make rules about religious clothing that follow these limits. Religious apparel means clothing worn as part of a member’s religious practice.
