Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle C— Navy and Marine Corps › Part IV— GENERAL ADMINISTRATION › Chapter 863— NAVAL VESSELS › § 8688
For new construction paid from the Shipbuilding and Conversion, Navy account, the contracting officer must require a warranty that covers the work for at least one year. The contracting officer may limit the contractor’s liability if that helps the Government, but any cap must still protect the Government and be consistent with past warranty levels for similar vessels.
