Title 12 › Chapter 3— FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM › Subchapter IX— POWERS AND DUTIES OF FEDERAL RESERVE BANKS › § 347d
Under rules the Board sets, Federal Reserve banks may accept deposits, discount paper, and lend to a foreign bank’s branch or agency the same way they deal with member banks, if that branch keeps reserve balances under section 3105. They must consider the branch’s balances and the share of its assets held as reserves. The words "branch," "agency," and "foreign bank" have the same meanings as in section 3101.
