Title 12 › Chapter 42— LOW-INCOME HOUSING PRESERVATION AND RESIDENT HOMEOWNERSHIP › Subchapter I— PREPAYMENT OF MORTGAGES INSURED UNDER NATIONAL HOUSING ACT › § 4117
Secretary must give a State housing agency some or all responsibility for this program if the State submits a preservation plan the Secretary approves. Plans must follow Secretary’s form and procedures and may include 7 items: inventory of low‑income housing eligible within 5 years; agency multifamily financing experience; staff resources to process and monitor; independent review; and a certification from the official filing the State’s comprehensive housing affordability strategy under section 12705 of title 42. Secretary may make agreements and use incentives to implement an approved plan.
