Summary

People allowed to use the San Francisco‑Oakland Bay Bridge without paying must hand over an authorization at the toll booth. The paper has to be issued and signed by an official picked under rules set by the head of the federal agency that employs the exempt person. The officials’ names and signatures are given to the California Toll Bridge Authority, which will accept the papers as proof. The Authority can also accept other kinds of proof, and it can make agreements with the agency head to carry this out.
