Title 15 › Chapter 47— CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY › § 2057b
Volatile alkyl nitrite is treated as a banned hazardous product, except that making, selling, shipping, or importing it is allowed when it’s for any commercial use or for a purpose approved under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. "Commercial use" does not include making consumer inhalant products meant to get people high or cause physical effects. The rule took effect 90 days after November 29, 1990.
