Title 15 › Chapter 48— HOBBY PROTECTION › § 2101
Makes it illegal to make or import for sale in the United States imitation political items unless they clearly and permanently show the calendar year they were made. It also makes it illegal to make, import, or sell imitation coin items unless they are clearly and permanently marked "copy". These violations are treated as unfair or deceptive business practices under the Federal Trade Commission Act (15 U.S.C. 41 et seq.), and the Federal Trade Commission must set rules about how the markings must be done. Helping or giving major support to a maker, importer, or seller who breaks these marking rules is also illegal if you knew or should have known. Carriers and freight forwarders that only handle, ship, or deliver the items in the normal course of business are not covered by these marking rules.
