Title 15 › Chapter 67— ARCTIC RESEARCH AND POLICY › § 4103
The Commission must create and recommend a national Arctic research policy and help the federal interagency committee set up a program plan to carry it out. It must work with federal, state, and local governments (including the Governor of Alaska), review federal Arctic research programs and suggest better coordination, improve logistics and data sharing, give advice to the interagency committee, and recommend ways to build international scientific cooperation. It must publish a statement of research goals and objectives by January 31, 1991, and every 2 years after that. Each year, by January 31, the Commission must send a report to the President and to Congress that describes what the Commission did and accomplished in the previous fiscal year.
