Summary

A tribal organization may regulate professional boxing matches on its reservation. It can run the rules itself or hire a boxing commission. If it does regulate, the tribal government must pass an ordinance or resolution that sets and enforces health and safety rules, licensing, and other requirements. Those rules must be at least as strict as either the State rules that would apply or the latest recommended guidelines from the Association of Boxing Commissions. Indian tribe — the federal legal meaning of a tribe. Reservation — the land area where a tribal government has authority. Tribal organization — the tribal government entity.
