Title 15 › CHAPTER 2 — FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION; PROMOTION OF EXPORT TRADE AND PREVENTION OF UNFAIR METHODS OF COMPETITION › SUBCHAPTER IV — LABELING OF FUR PRODUCTS › § 69f
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) enforces the rules in sections 69a, 69d, and 69h(b). The FTC uses the same powers, procedures, and penalties it has under the Federal Trade Commission Act to stop people from breaking those rules. The FTC must write rules about how to disclose the information this law requires. It can also inspect, test, and analyze any fur product covered by the law, and it can work with federal, state, local agencies, or private people on related matters. Every maker or dealer of fur products must keep proper records about the furs they handle and keep those records for at least three years. If they fail to do so, they break the law and must pay $100 for each day they do not keep the records. The United States can collect that money in a civil lawsuit.
