Manufacturers of covered textile fiber products must keep clear records that show the fiber content of the products they make. They must keep those records for at least three years. If someone replaces a stamp, tag, label, or other ID on a product, they must keep records showing what was on the original tag and the name or names of the people they got the product from, and they must keep those records for at least three years. Not keeping these records is illegal and is treated as an unfair or deceptive business practice under federal trade law.
