Title 15 › Chapter 15D— ALASKA NATURAL GAS PIPELINE › § 720f
Facilities that get natural gas from an Alaska natural gas transportation project for delivery in Alaska count as local distribution facilities under section 1(b) of the Natural Gas Act (15 U.S.C. 717(b)) and are not regulated by the Commission. Except as provided in section 720a(d) of this title, the chapter does not stop future pipelines to Fairbanks, Anchorage, Matanuska‑Susitna Valley, the Kenai Peninsula, Valdez, or other Alaska locations for in‑State use or out‑of‑State delivery. The Commission must set transport rates for any Alaska project and must consult the State about those rates and rate settlements under section 17(b) of the Natural Gas Act (15 U.S.C. 717p(b)).
