§9301 National Coordinating Entity for Sustainable Chemistry

Summary

Within 180 days after January 1, 2021, the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy must set up an interagency group under the National Science and Technology Council to coordinate federal programs and actions that support sustainable chemistry. The Director must consider overlap with existing NSTC committees, such as the Committee on Environment, Committee on Technology, Committee on Science, or similar groups. The group must be co‑chaired by the OSTP Director and someone chosen by that Director from the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the National Science Foundation, or the Department of Energy. It must include experts from EPA, NIST, NSF, DOE, the Departments of Agriculture and Defense, NIH, CDC, FDA, and other federal agencies as needed. The group will end 10 years after January 1, 2021.
