No one may live, settle, cut timber, run a business, or enter Crater Lake National Park just to speculate. People who break these park rules can be fined up to $500, jailed up to one year, and must pay for U.S. property damage they cause. The park is open to scientists and visitors under rules set by the Secretary. Hotels and restaurants may apply to the Secretary to offer visitor entertainment where allowed.
