For subdivision (2) of section 164, the Secretary of the Interior decides how to figure the value of patented private lands in the park (including timber) and the federal lands offered in exchange. Owners must give the Secretary proof of title he accepts before any exchange takes effect, and lands given to the Government under this section and subdivision (2) of section 164 remain part of Glacier National Park.
