Title 16 › Chapter 1— NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter XX— GLACIER NATIONAL PARK › § 166
Values for patented park land (including timber) and for timber on park or Government forest lands in Montana are set by the Interior and Agriculture Secretaries. Owners pay the costs to determine those values and must prove title before an exchange. If the timber is worth more, owners must pay the difference to the Secretary of the Interior before removal; the money goes into the Treasury as miscellaneous receipts. Lands conveyed become part of Glacier National Park.
