Anticipated cost of removal — the estimated cost to move leftover wood from a timber sale area to where it will be used, set by the Secretary when the sale is advertised under normal appraisal and sale steps. Anticipated value — the estimated worth of those leftovers as fuel or other wood products, also set by the Secretary at advertisement. Points of prospective use — the places where the leftovers will be sold or used, chosen by the Secretary. Person — any individual, business, trust, estate, other legal entity, or a Federal or State agency or local government. Secretary — the Secretary of Agriculture. Wood residues — leftover wood such as logging slash, fallen timber, woody plants, and standing live or dead trees that are not marketable or are surplus to needs.
